Are there any considerations to where I locate the Caron bath within my facility?
The bath should be located in a dry, clean and level area. It is also very important that air is allowed to move from the top of the bath through the unit and out the back freely. This will help provide years of trouble-free operation.
The 2050 offers redundant temperature safeties and a low fluid level alarm. An over-temperature safety thermostat protects against an over-temperature condition by removing power to the heaters. A float switch trips when the fluid level is not high enough. It also shuts off power to the heater, sounds an alarm and illuminates a red warning light.
Can I use the Caron 2050 for external circulation?
Yes. External circulation is provided by an independent full flow stainless steel pump. This pump will deliver in excess of 5 LPM. Maximum pressure is 10 ft. head (approximately 5 psi).
What size fittings and tubing are used with the 2050?
The unit has a quick disconnect inlet and outlet fittings with 3/8 inch hose barb connections. The 3/8 inch ID hose barb fittings accept 3/8 inch ID tubing. The bath is drained by removing an 1/8 inch NPT plug.
What type of thermal fluid do you recommend using with the bath?
Water is recommended as the fluid medium for applications requiring temperatures above 10° C. Methanol or ethylene glycol are recommended for temperatures below 10° C.
