Caron’s full line of Insect Growth Chambers provide a unique medium to high volume solution for a wide variety of entomological studies. Our Insect Growth Chambers offer reliable results for insect rearing experts in numerous fields and disciplines. Many standard features are incorporated in the design to specifically support insect rearing in an environmental chamber. Because most insect growth studies, such as the rearing of the fruit fly, create acidic secretions, Caron’s Insect Growth Chambers come standard with phenolic coated coils, protecting interior components and contributing to a long operating life.
 
Insect Growth/Insect Rearing

Our Insect Growth Chambers come in 10, 25 and 33 cu. ft. sizes, and are all designed to take up a minimal footprint, allowing you to most efficiently take advantage of your laboratory floor or bench space. Our carefully engineered chambers are energy efficient, lowering operating costs. Multiple optional accessories are available, allowing you to cost-effectively customize the unit according to your specific requirements.

Model 6015 is our 10 cu. ft. unit. It comes standard on leveling feet and fits on a benchtop. These units are stackable and are ideal in a situation where two different setpoints are required or where multiple researchers need their own unit.
 
Model 6025 is our 25 cu. ft. unit. It comes standard on heavy-duty casters and is designed to roll through a standard three foot doorway without modification, making installation and relocation easy.
 
Model 6045 is our 33 cu. ft. unit. It comes standard on heavy-duty swivel casters for easy relocation and is designed for applications demanding large capacity. This unit boasts 33 cu. ft. of high volume testing capacity, giving you 30% more interior space than the Model 6025 in the same small footprint.
 
Standard Features
  • The wide temperature range of 5°C to 70°C and humidity range from 20% to 98% offers the flexibility
    to simulate a wide range of environmental conditions.
  • Phenolic-coated refrigeration coils resist the corrosive effects of acids inherent in the rearing of insects, such as drosophila.
  • Caron’s gVapor™ delivers controlled humidity vapor on an as needed basis without wasting energy or producing heat.
  • gROD™, Refrigeration on Demand, efficiently manages power consumption and saves electricity.
  • Caron offers an optional fresh air port, which allows ambient air exchange into the chamber.
  • These chambers are designed with energy-efficient components, including high R, CFC-free foam insulation. The 115V units will plug into standard laboratory electrical outlets.
  • An optional waterproof LED Lighting System simulates diurnal studies. The low profile, side mounted lighting system allows full utilization of the chamber interior.
  • Our optional gLux™ Fluorescent Lighting System includes a cycle timer to simulate day/night conditions. The light banks are independently controlled for versatile interior layout. Lights illuminate the shelf from above and are modular, expandable and waterproof.
  • The glass doors are heated, triple-pane and argon filled, which minimizes condensation for a clear view
    of your products inside.
  • Dual display of temperature and humidity allows you to visualize instantaneous setpoint and operating conditions. Setpoints are easily adjusted by simply pressing the up or down arrow keys.
  • The stainless steel shelves are adjustable and perforated, making them easy to clean and highly resistant to corrosion. These shelves also slide, making it is easy to locate all product inside.
  • The interior is comprised of corrosion-resistant stainless steel and is easily removed without tools for routine cleaning or re-configuration.
  • Our ergonomic, limolicious door handle is an attractive, modern design, and allows you to easily access the inside of your chamber.
  • The control panel is intuitive, allowing you to easily make adjustments and setpoint changes. 
  • The 6025 and 6045 models contain two access ports and the 6015 model has one access port, making validation easy and providing you with convenient access to connect instrumentation.
  • Many optional accessories are available, allowing you to customize the chamber to your specific application.
