Caron Products Names Dr. Jitendra Pant, ME, PhD as Global Director of Research and Innovation

Marietta, OH, March 25, 2022 - Caron Products today announced the appointment of Dr. Jitendra Pant, ME, PhD as Global Director of Research and Innovation, effective immediately. This announcement comes with much excitement as this newly created role will catapult Caron to the forefront of our industry as a premier supplier of innovative next-generation bioinstruments for our customers’ evolving needs.
Dr. Pant is ideal to lead Caron’s next chapter of innovation.
Dr. Pant will focus on bridging connections specific to the scientific community, focusing on product and service development in key segments; namely Cell & Gene Therapy but with other specific high-growth areas in the Bio-Pharma space as well. He will be responsible for overall market analysis and strategy including geographic expansion and will drive engineering for new product development.

About Jitendra Pant
Dr. Jitendra Pant has over 13 years of experience in the research and development of biologics; Monoclonal Antibodies and Cell Therapy, biomedical devices, and bioinspired materials in state-of-the-art laboratories in the USA, India, and Germany. Dr. Pant completed his PhD and post-doctoral research work at the University of Georgia and the University of Michigan, respectively. Dr Pant holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering (ME-Biotechnology) studies from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science in Pilani, India.
Dr. Pant has been a Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on the National Institute of Health and CDC funded Small Business Innovation Research grants, for commercialization of Biomedical Devices. He has contributed to the upstream process development of two FDA approved Monoclonal Antibodies at Biocon, and has filed seven US Patent and Trademark Office patent applications, of which four have been granted. Dr. Pant’s expertise in the field also extends to peer-reviewed publications, authoring the chapter Nitric Oxide-Releasing Polyurethanes, of the book Advances in Polyurethane’s Biomaterials, written by an international team of leading authors. He has also published 23 high impact research articles and has the distinction of being an editorial member of five STEM journals.
Dr. Pant’s research is often cited globally by researchers in more than 40 countries and nearly 700 times (h index = 15). The recipient of more than 30 awards, Dr. Pant is a TEDx speaker and has been invited to review over 60 manuscripts for 20 scientific journals.
In his new role as the Global Director of Research and Innovation, Dr. Pant will be leading Caron’s research and innovation with a focus on Cell & Gene Therapy bio-instruments.
